What It Is

A soft fleece throw printed edge to edge in warm rose watercolor, framed by a border of hand drawn hearts. Down the middle runs the message a grandmother would tell her granddaughter if she could say it out loud: never forget that I love you, I hope you believe in yourself as much as I believe in you, and when life tries to knock you down, this old girl will always have your back. At the bottom stand the two of them side by side, each one built to look like the real pair, with their names underneath.

Make It Theirs

You build both characters, one feature at a time:

Grandma. Add her name, choose her skin tone, pick her sweater, choose her hair color and then the exact style, and decide whether to keep her smile lines.
Granddaughter. Choose whether she is a baby, a kid, or grown, then add her name and build her the same way.
Names. Up to twelve characters each, printed under the two figures.

Skeptical at first

The preview on the screen looked a bit cartoonish to me and I almost did not order. Glad I did. In person the print is clean and the words are what matter anyway. My granddaughter read the whole thing out loud to her mother.

Worth the time it took to build

Building the two characters took me longer than I expected, maybe twenty minutes, and I would say do it on a computer rather than a phone. But the result is lovely. 4 stars only because I wish there were a few more hairstyle choices for the little one.

Washed it twice and it looks the same

I always worry printed blankets will go faded and stiff after a wash. Cold water and low heat like the tag says and it came out exactly the same. No cracking in the letters either.

Picked the baby version

My first granddaughter is only seven months so I chose the baby character and matched her skin and the little wisp of hair she has. It hangs over the rail of her crib during the day. Her mom already asked me where I got it.

Came faster than I planned for

I ordered late and fully expected to miss her birthday. It showed up with four days to spare. Says made in the US on the site and I believe it because nothing takes that long coming from overseas.

Bigger and thicker than I expected

I ordered the largest one thinking it would be thin like those cheap throws. It is not. Heavy enough to actually keep you warm and soft on both sides. Covers a full bed with room to spare.
